Hiking at Max Patch today

Sunflowers, milkweed, cloud pictures, thistles………

Max Patch is filled with wonder this time of year.

There is the faintest blush of color on the top of  this mountain that protrudes 4,616 ft out of our Appalachian range, making it the highest peak in our region.  The forest service mows the fields once per year to keep the forest from covering the ridge.  This gives us views that are simply spectacular.
